Trough tables use a simple slope and gravity to move water across the growing surface, sub-irrigating potted crops through capillary action. Water in on the high side, absorption through the root zone, and drainage at the low end — covering several thousand square feet in under 8 minutes. Pair with a recirculation system to recover runoff and cut water and fertilizer costs.

  • Fast, Even Sub-Irrigation Across the Full Bay

Water is introduced at the high end of a 4”-per-100′ slope and flows downhill past every pot on the table. Plants take up what they need through capillary action. Several thousand square feet can be watered in under 8 minutes.

    Built-In Airflow for Healthier Crops

Troughs are gapped to let air circulate through the canopy. Better airflow means less moisture sitting on foliage, which helps reduce disease pressure and promotes more even growth across the bench.

    Recirculation-Ready from Day One

Every trough system can be bundled with a recirculation package at install, or retrofitted later to work with your existing tables. Recirculating sub-irrigation water means measurable savings on water and fertilizer.

    Durable, Low-Maintenance Construction

Trough tables are manufactured using clear coated white aluminum — corrosion-resistant, long-lasting, and built to hold up in wet greenhouse environments season after season. The material stays clean, reflects light back into the canopy, and requires minimal upkeep compared to steel or wooden alternatives.

Grow Direct in the Shuttle Tray

Growers can plant directly in the shuttle tray for crops like lettuce and leafy greens, eliminating the need for individual containers and simplifying harvest. The tray acts as both the growing vessel and the irrigation surface, keeping the workflow streamlined from planting through to pickup.

Rolling or Stationary — Designed Around Your Layout

Choose rolling benches to reclaim walkway space and maximize your growing square footage, or stationary benches for retail, point-of-sale, and garden center displays where fixed layouts make more sense.

Questions?
We're here to help.

Rolling benches float side-to-side on a single aisle, letting you reclaim walkway space and grow more per square foot. Stationary benches are better for fixed-layout environments like retail displays and garden centers. Both options work with the same trough irrigation system.
Either way works. You can bundle a recirculation package when the system is installed, or we can design a recirculation retrofit for tables you already have in place. Talk to your AdeptAg representative about which approach fits your situation.
