Simple Rain Controller

Not every boom needs a touchscreen. The Simple Rain Controller runs one zone with switches and a speed dial. Move the home and away magnets to the block you want watered, choose irrigation or mist, set your pass count, and press GO. Common in tree seedling and field vegetable production, where the same crop gets the same treatment every pass and operators want a panel they can run on day one.

  • Set the watered area by moving two magnets on the rail, no programming required
  • Run left, right or both spray bars for irrigation or mist, selected from the panel face
  • Change boom speed on a dial at rest or mid-pass, without stopping the run

Details

  • One Zone, Set by Two Magnets

The boom waters the space between a home magnet and an away magnet on the rail. Move the away magnet to the end of the crop you want covered, or slide both magnets down the rail to treat the middle of the travel as the zone. Changing what gets watered is a walk down the rail, not a programming session.

Every Control Is on the Face

Main selector, direction, spray bar type, left and right selection, speed, GO and STOP all sit on the front of the panel. An operator can read the state of the boom at a glance and hand it to the next shift without a walkthrough.

Set the Pass Count, Then Let It Run

In AUTO the boom runs its pre-programmed number of passes and comes to rest at home. Press STOP mid-run and it holds. Press GO and it picks up in the direction it was already heading. When the count is finished, CYCLE RESET and GO start it over.

Speed Is a Dial, Not a Setting

Turn the speed dial and the boom responds, parked or mid-pass. An operator can slow a pass down over a block that needs more water without stopping the run or opening a menu.

Irrigation and Mist on the Same Boom

Tell the controller which spray bars you are working with, then choose left, right or both. On booms plumbed and wired for both, propagation misting and standard irrigation run off the same panel.

  • Control What it Does
ON / OFF / AUTO ON runs the boom manually, OFF makes it dormant, AUTO runs the programmed pass count
    GO  Starts the boom
STOP  Stops the boom in motion
DIRECTION FWD moves toward the away position, REV moves toward home, AUTO hands direction to the cycle count
SPRAY BARS Selects whether the boom is working with irrigation or mist bars
IRRIGATION SELECTION Left bar, right bar or both
MIST SELECTION Left bar, right bar or both
CYCLE RESET Clears a completed pass count so the boom can run again
SPEED  Variable speed dial, adjustable at rest or in motion

Questions?
We're here to help.

It is built for growers running a single zone on one boom, where the whole block gets the same water. If you need to split a bay into zones with different watering rules, talk to an AdeptAg irrigation specialist about the right controller for that setup.
Move the magnets. The home magnet marks where the boom rests, the away magnet marks the far end of the run, and the boom waters the span between them. Reposition either one on the rail and the zone changes with it.
